Bascinet “Klappvisier” | Knightly Helmet | Steel C45 2 mm

The Bascinet with a “klappvisier” visor is a classic late medieval bascinet, combining a light, streamlined skull with a practical hinged visor. This type of helmet was popular in Europe from the late 14th century, especially in Germany and northern Italy, providing high facial protection while maintaining ergonomics and wearing comfort.

The “klappvisier” visor can be optionally removable, allowing easy donning, removal, and maintenance of the helmet. Additionally, the helmet can be optionally equipped with a neck guard, providing safety during Buhurt combat, where full head and neck protection is essential.

As a bascinet, the helmet provides full head protection at a relatively low weight, characteristic of this type of construction. The flattened visor profile effectively deflects impact energy, and the hinged design reduces the risk of snagging during dynamic foot combat.

The helmet is handmade to measure, with full customization options for fit, finish, aventail, and additional accessories.
